Larissa Hofmann is a London based photographer and director. Born and raised in Southern Germany, she began her professional career as a model, moving between Paris and New York. Eventually, her relationship to the camera turned inward, spending time in darkrooms experimenting with the physicality of film. As a self taught photographer, Hofmann uses her practice as an opportunity to explore the various fragments of life - not always in their most complete form, but in their purest; deconstructing everyday realities and giving them a transformative quality through her intimate relationship between artist and subject. She has shot covers for publications including Self Service, Harper's Bazaar US, and Vogue France; and contributed to other editorial titles such as i-D, AnOther Magazine, and The Gentlewoman. Her advertising clients include Valentino, Hermès, Marc Jacobs and Versace.
